February 2020 | Glassine Bag Packaging - What do you think? | KCK Soapery

I saw the use of glassine paper bags as soap packaging and I am intrigued.

The idea of using something that is biodegradable and prevent my soap from getting too many hands and nose touching and sniffing the soaps during craft shows sounds like a great idea.
We shall see how my soaps and customers will like this transition.

What do you think?

Thank you for stopping by!

June 2014 | Cigar Band Packaging | KCK Soapery

Cigar band packaging for handmade soaps.  I used my translucent cardstock from Meijer and cut them lengthwise into three.  The ends were sealed by the label which listed the ingredients used and the weight of the soaps.  The labels were from stickeryou.com, I bought from the crafting aisle of our local Meijer store as well.

I like that the designs on top and the swirls are all visible and that sniffers can smell the soap as much as they want.   Some soapers shrink wrap the soaps either before or after the cigar band to limit too much touching and sniffing.  I tried  shrink wrap and I still need to practice how to tighten the wrap to make them look more professional.

I am trying this out and hope shoppers will like them.  They still look a little on the plain side.  I needed a logo design I can incorporate into the label.  Will have to work on that soon.

Thank you for visiting.

June 2014 | Cupcake Packaging | KCK Soapery

While I am still in my quest for that packaging and labelling design I can truly be happy with.  Here is the packaging I found at a local Michael's store for my soap cupcakes.

The numerous ways to package and label handmade soaps are infinite.  I am still finding myself totally confused whenever it is time to package my soaps to sell at my local consignment store and salon.  At first I was looking at ways to eliminate too much touching (fingers and nose) to the soap.  So I decided on shrink wraps.  That definitely solves the touching part.  But shrink wraps are made of plastic and are not eco friendly.

These cupcake boxes can be recycled.  The window is plastic, but I could just not include those in my own packaging.  I guess the search is on for soap boxes with windows to see and smell the soap that will fit my soaps.  Now if I can only make and cut my soaps uniformly in size and shape.  It could get tricky since I love playing with the top of my soaps and piping frosting can add height to the bars.

Thank you to my friend "J" for ordering these cupcake soaps.  I hope your sister-in-law will love them.

Surfing around for more handmade soap packaging ideas and soap boxes.  If you find one or some that you think would be perfect.  Please don't hesitate to contact me.

Giveaways Wrap

Another giveaway packaging I  found on etsy.com that I really liked and just have to try.  I am still not sure what type of paper the etsy store used.  They tied the ends loosely with something that looked like a thin rope.  I modified it by using gift wrapping tissue paper, added a ribbon and a tag.

These giveaways contain a variety of all of my first batches of soap bars cut into three.  More soaps  already cut but still waiting to cure.  Then I will play with the packaging for those as well.  The soaps are about 1 to 2.5 oz. each depending on the original size of the bar and how equally I cut them.

Thank you very much for entrusting me with this.  Learned a lot about soaping through all these batches and still have a lot more to learn and experiment with.

Pillow Box

This is another packaging technique I like.  Most youtube tutorials showed this pillow box using different decorative papers filled with candies and other small items for giveaways.  We can easily make different sized boxes add bows, ribbons, tags and other blings to add to its charm for personalize gifts.

I think it is perfect for soaps because it sealed the soap enough to protect it from the environment.   Since I intentionally leave a little gap on the sides, it still allows the soap to breathe.

Giveaway Packaging

My soon to be six years old wanted to give soaps to her classmates and I was able to make these just in time for the last day of school before spring break.  These birthday giveaways are the rose colored cupcake soaps I made for my her classmates.  My daughter wanted the pink ones I made a few days ago.  But those still has to cure some more.  Although, the new batches were all oven processed which means, they are dry enough for use, most soapers recommend more curing time before using.

Winter 2014 Soap Swap Package

These are on their way to Bramble Berry for the soap swap I joined for the first time.  I certainly hope the recipients will like them.

Learned the packaging from a youtube tutorial I found.  I will link it up here once I find it again.  In the meantime, I made these from a clear translucent premium cardstock and followed the instructions on the folding.

We can use different themed papers and labelings and I think this packaging would be perfect as party favors or just as gifts.

For the first time, I made a youtube video and I hope you enjoy it.

Labelled

These label templates are from Bramble Berry's website.  I like the process of making soaps but is not creative enough to design logos and labels.  These are just perfect for my needs.  Thank you Bramble Berry.
